Potipot Island

Me and My college barkada always go out of town almost every year. And this year we decided to go on different islands " maiba lang.. ahaha! ". Day before kami umalis ng manila, biglang ngkasakit si kalbo pero sbe niya " tuloy padin tayo" so we did.. ang call time? 5am.. ahaha!

Our journey started at 7eleven Cubao. And on our way to Candelaria sobrang maulan na.. we were not able to use our " pinaghandaang shades". Since we did not make any plans at kung saan pupunta o anuman, wala kming mga dalang khit ano kundi mga sarili nmin at mga damit. Good thing, Kaye is from Zambales so we decided to drop by on their house at manghiram nga mga gagamitin namin sa island.

We went to the market near my friends house and pingbigyan nman kami ni haring araw at biglang uminit at ngamit nmin ang mga shades namin.. ahaha! mga turista lang :)

After having lunch at our friends house, we went to Dawal beach resort and we were told that it is 490php for the boat rent (back & forth).

After the short boat ride at habang umuulan ng bongga, we were finally at our destination! Potipot Island, is a small PRIVATELY-owned island off the coast of Zambales. It doesn’t have any resorts on it or bars or restaurants. What it does have is clear waters and white sand. Which I think is essential to having a great time at the beach.

A welcome sight: 300 pesos to enjoy the beach.

We were greeted by white sands and clear blue waters. They have some cottages and tables to rent though, so you wouldn’t be at a complete loss. What I really don't like about Potipot though is it's expensive entrance fee and cottages but such a very, very pretty view.

The island is really small. It would take you around 30 minutes to walk around it " But I didn't try because it's raining hehe.." It may lacks in size but it makes up with the beauty of the view.

One thing I like: not many people go there. I know it’s a bit elitist of me to say so…but I’ll say it anyway. I don’t like beaches or resorts with lots of people.

The island doesn’t have great plumbing though. I wouldn’t recommend it to the squeamish. It does have fairly manageable bathrooms and hand pumps.

Well, since it's raining real hard we we don't have much pictures at the beach, all were taken at our kubo.

It was really such a great experience being in an island surrounded by water and take note " no one is there but US" seems like we rented the whole island.. ahaha!
